When this book arrived this morning I knew I had to get stuck in so with the kids napping this afternoon I got stuck in. It has been a while since I read the last installment so I couldn't really remember where the story had been left but a few pages in spurred my memory back into action. As we were left a midst the action in the last book we were catapulted straight into action from the very first page in this book which was great no boring build up straight into full blown fast paced action.

The pace really stepped up in this book with the action never seeming to stop it was straight from one place to the next with no down time, as soon as one drama ended another one was mere pages away. Being broken up between Eva, Sam, and Alex with all of them being involved in some sort of conflict there was no stop to the fighting and action. I liked this and it meant I could read the book all at once in quick succession as there was no point I felt I needed to put the book down and come back to it.

At the end of the last book I was left wondering who was left to trust and this book sure opened up more mysteries with even Solaris proving to be helpful to Sam in some ways as we were left on a cliff hanger again we shall see if indeed he does prove to be an ally or an enemy but at least for now he is helping Sam flee from Mac and his goons who want the gears for evil. Mac shows he isn't to be trusted and doesn't care who he hurts in the process as we expected all along.

A new dreamer is found but this hangs in the balance with the threat of a nuclear explosion which is quite nerve wracking as he seems like a great addition to the last thirteen who will be well needed in the final race. Will be interesting to see if we see his dream pan out in the next installment. What is so intense this time around is the enemies seem to be getting stronger and stronger in their surveliance techniques finding the path of the dreamers almost immediately after it happens, with everything from drone helicopters and traces on phone lines.

We also learn that Solaris has a stolen dream suit which may be the answer to how he can always make his way into the dreams of the last thirteen. I'm hoping we learn more about Solaris in the next book as he still remains a bit of a mystery thus far. With only 6 books to go I imagine we are going to have a very fast paced action filled race to the finish with more and more clues coming forward can't wait for the next installment to arrive to keep reading, definitely not disappointed with the series so far.

I have been noticing for some time now that the time gaps between the books in this series feel as if they have been getting shorter and shorter, and I narrowed the reason for this down to two options, 1: I have been taking more time to savour and absorb the storyline, or, the series has now gotten so intense and fast-paced that time appears to speed up. Either way, this book will make the time difference feel momentary, as it might just the the best yet! The series is now halfway through, and the plot has thickened significantly since book 1. More enemies have risen, more cliffhangers have been created and resolved, trusts have become betrayals, and bot the Academy and the Enterprise, which were originally rivals, have become allies.

I enjoy how the book combines ancient secrets with futuristic technology, and how, as the series progresses, the whole concept of "True dreaming", or the ability to dream of events that are about to happen and either change these events or take advantage of how they play out, is brought more down to science, as well as something that can be hacked or used by other people, malicious or not. I enjoyed how the location of the next Dreamer of the last 13 was the grand canyon, which is a place I have long wanted to visit. The events written in this book contain far higher levels of betrayal than any other book in this series than ever, I became lost when it came to predicting what was going to happen next, which made reading this book all the more exciting!

Now that the series has reached it's halfway mark, I can only hope that the series will continue to get even more intense, as it is, this book reveals the answers to quite a lot of mysteries that have puzzled myself and the characters for some time, and makes me all the more anxious to see how events play out, the series has now entered it's endgame, and I can only hope I will be able to keep myself from tearing my hair out by it's roots in anticipation for the series' conclusion. I think that this book is suitable for readers of all ages, apart from those much younger than 8 years old, as this book is written at a young adult level.

The book is exciting enough to avoid boring the reader/s, but does not contain large quantities of violence, so do not risk mentally disturbing the majority of readers. The price is highly reasonable, and it was quite easy to get lost in the book and lose track of time all together! I can now add this book to my growing collection of "the last 13" books, and it is likely that I will read this book again sometime!
