Star Trek Voyager excited me to no end when I first saw ads and this was due to seeing there would be a female captain, and so over the years Janeway became a role model for me.
Voyager is sent to track down a Marquis ship, we have a brief crossover with Deep Space Nine, and then Voyager is off on it's way when it suddenly gets dragged to the other side of the universe. Upon finding out it was done by a creature known as The Caretaker they request he send them back, until they learn that an entire race will be killed and thus they destroy the array instead, stranding the Federation and Marquis crew in the Delta Quadrant.
A great start to this series, two differing ideals thrust together, forced to create one crew should they ever hope to make it home. The crew works out that it will take then 75 years to get back to the Alpha Quadrant and so start the journey full of tensions as they try to accept both their position and each other. In this series we are once again boldly going where no one has gone before, since they are the first in the Federation to be in this quadrant.
With some fun episodes and room for plenty of growth this is one heck of a show.
