Another puzzle to solve and as usual written in riddles. It is good to find out what happened to those who were missing, friendships were tested as some assumptions were made. Less fighting than the previous books and some family history was revealed at a surprise family reunion.

Gregor got to see a new part of the underland. Got to understand a new way of thinking (why should fighting be the first response?) and meet some interesting new people. His goal this time was to find out what was causing the plague and how to cure it, preferably before his mom gets worse (she insisted on coming along and lucky she got sick right at the beginning or she would have insisted on Gregor and Boots going home).

Some secrets are too much for an almost 12 year old boy to handle alone so who does he confide in and how do they react? Most people would think it is something out of a Sci Fi movie so he has to be careful who he tells as it could be dangerous for the underland as well as his family.

I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying these books, when I read the first one I honestly didn't think I would even finish the first one but now I have read the first three and looking forward to reading number 4.

It has been a few months since the end of Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane and Gregor is trying to live life, yet eagerly awaits news from his friends in the Underland.

in The Curse of the Warmbloods, Gregor ends up in the Underland, this time with his mother tagging along, for what he believes will be just a few hours, but what begins as hours suddenly turns into days as he is sent on yet another quest, this time to find a cure to the plague that has struck the land. The description of the plague was good, but not too gruesome which was good. There's enough detail that you know what is going on without feeling put off by too much description.

I like the detail in this book, you get to explore more of the Underland this time, whilst also learning the fates of those in the second book and learning a bit more of the history of the royal family, Regalia and the ongoing war between the rats and humans. The start of the book had me a little bored but once they got off and on to the quest the book picks up its pace and I was hooked. This is a good addition to the series, giving some good back story without seeming like a flash back.

I'm already looking at reading number four in the series and can't wait to see where they go with it.
