Ready to Serve Tortellini Sundried Tomato and Bacon product reviews

A complete heat and eat meal in two minutes. Wattie's tortellini contains three cheeses - tasty, blue vein and parmesan. the tortellini is combined with a freshly made sundried and bacon sauce and cooked to perfection.

I saw these the other day, near where the Kaweka stuff was placed at the supermarket. They were on special and I thought, why not? I'm trying not to spend too much on lunches at the moment so this was something that would be filling and was not too badly priced.

The packet is foil looking plastic. I got it to work and at lunchtime, I read the back. The instructions were pretty clear to follow. I found a bowl in the cupboard and I tore the packet open. I liked that it was easy to open and I had no difficulty getting the pasta out. Even though the sauce is thick and very red, I didn't spill a drop which I think speaks to the ease of opening as well.

I heated this for 2 minutes in the microwave. Unfortunately the bowl I selected heated as well, and so when it came out the pasta sauce was still bubbling. I left it to sit on the bench for a little while. When I came back I ate my lunch. I enjoyed the pasta pieces very much. I was a little worried at the mention of blue vein cheese but it hardly featured and the cheesy taste was nice.

The tomato and bacon sauce was very spicy. I didn't mind the spicy but felt it could have been less. I guess for me I'm rather taste the flavours and the spice held most of the flavour out of the way for me. The bacon chunks were big and easy to spot and they weren't too bad for meat that has been in a packet. Overall a filling meal, though due to the spice, not one I would hurry back to.

Product reviews for listing 377: Super Summer Spud Salad -  Created by The Phantom Gerbil

Product image for Super Summer Spud SaladTake a dozen small (about 4-6cm diameter) Gourmet Potatoes, wash and brush them, but do NOT peel them. (All the good stuff is in the skins.) Cut them into cubes about 1-1.5cm. Boil them gently in lightly-salted water until tender, but not squishy. You don't want a mashed salad.

While the spuds boil, grab some rashers of bacon, or if you don't have any handy (like me) use 3 or 4 slices of Ham & Chicken Luncheon, or shaved ham even. ... more...
