$2 Prepay IOU top-up product reviews

If you are a Vodafone Prepay customer and you are out of credit, you can now get a Prepay IOU $2 Top Up to help you make another call or text when you need it most! This means you will never again get stuck in sticky situations because you run out of credit! Whether it is to get home safely, or just to get you up and running again so you dont.

To get a Prepay IOU you must have less than 20cents credit on your mobile, simply text IOU to 468 and we will top up your mobile with $2 credit to get you back up and running. The text to 468 is free!

Next time you top up, the amount you have used will be paid back. For example if you have used 20c, your next $20 recharge will credit you with $19.80cents.

You can get one $2 IOU per re-charge, they do not accumulate and if you dont use your IOU that is ok, but the service is there for everyone in case they need it.
So if your Vodafone Prepay mobile runs out of credit you can now TXT IOU to 468, and we will top you up with $2 credit to keep you up and running!

You can also call 468 free from your mobile to hear info about this service.

When I was with vodafone I always ran out of credit as the "you are almost out of credit" text was sent when you had just under $5 left so I tended to ignore it and often got caught out as there were no more reminders to top up The IOU saved me having to desperately get some credit and yes I knew when I did top up I would have $2 less in credit but good to know for peace of mind that it is available.

The service was easy to use and the $2 was immediately available which was great. Although I am no longer with vodafone I would recommend this service to vodafone prepay users as it is so easy to forget to top up especially since the reminder text is sent when you still have quite a lot of credit left.

I really appreciate this option that Vodafone offers, because I know that if I am caught short and have forgotten to top up my phone and back in the day when I didn't have internet banking and couldn't top up from my phone I used this IOU option quite a few times.

Yes the user doesn't get any freebies as the $2 is paid back but it does offer a peace of mind that if needed it is always there! Especially in emergencies like it states in the advertisement if you run out of credit and need to text or phone someone for a ride home you are guaranteed that your phone has the credit straight away.

$2 might not seem like much but to a young lady stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a car that won't go and a cellphone that has no credit that $2 is the best $2 investment I have ever made! Yes I was a typical teenage girl that thought 'yeah that will never happen to me!' until the day it did happen and I was left stranded on the side of the road with no petrol!! Hey c'mon it wasn't me job to put petrol in my parents car even though I tended to drive it more than they did!!

So to cut a long story short I topped up using the IOU got my dad out of bed to come and rescue me...since then I tried not to run out of credit but the odd time I did this option to IOU was literally a life saving tool to have. I hope that Vodafone keeps this option available for many many many more years to come.

Availability is it is always there granted you have paid back the first IOU credit, before you get the next one....the Lack of Catches is there isn't a catch...ensuring you have topped up and paid the IOU back they is no catch....Savings...don't get only money savings but if it counts towards saving your life this is well a fantastic option!! The freebie option does not count towards getting anything free because yes the $2 is eventually paid back, but granted at the time yes it is indeed free...but these days nothing is free, so nothing gained and nothing lost in my opinion.

This little feature from Vodafone has really come in handy for me, luckily I have never had to use it in an emergency but I have used it until I could get out to buy a proper top up. The fact that it is instant though means it would be perfect in those emergency situations where you have broken down or something and need to get hold of someone to help that isn't an 0800 number so it is a really good thing for vodafone to offer for this reason.

When I have used it is when my credit has run out and I know I will not be able to get out until later on to top up my phone. When it gets to this situation I know the $2 will get me 10 texts and I generally won't send any more than that in a day as I am not a huge texter so it is really handy for me until I can get out later and top up my phone. It isn't really that great if you need to make a call though as it only gets you a couple of minutes of calling time but just for texting it is great.

You aren't getting something for nothing as you pay the $2 back next time you top up and Vodafone have now also started charging an extra 20c when you top up your phone next as a fee for using the service so it does actually now cost you to use. So you aren't getting a fantastic deal or anything. Sometimes I forget I have used it when I top up my phone and it can be quite annoying when you think you are going to have $20 credit and you don't.

You get what you've paid for with this deal, nothing hidden & it's instant access to credit in potentially urgent times! If selling your pre-pay phone & sim card on then $2 debt also gets passed on to buyer, so buyer beware!

Firstly, it's ALWAYS available on Vodafone pre-pay phones, so hey, gotta be good eh!

There are no hidden charges, penalties, or catches, so that's all good. Sure, it is a 'loan' so you pay it back when you next top-up, but that's not a catch, that's just a fact.

Though you don't save any money, you sure can be saved by this in other respects, so perhaps this score is a little misleading, however, if I didn't stretch the point somewhat, the overall score would have been misleading, so I chose this option.

No free minutes on this, and I can't stretch this one at all, so sorry, a 1 it has to be.
