I brought the Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Musical Pop-tivity Table as a toy of choice for my daughter during one of the big christmas toy sales before she was born. When she was around 6 months I decided to get it out of the box for her to explore (the box says from 9months) but it was definitely safe enough for children of an earlier age due to there being no loose or small bits to go into little mouths.

Obviously being with her not being old enough to stand or pull herself up against the table I set it up on the floor with a nice mat for her to crawl around and discover and she LOVED IT!!! Her favourite part was the catchy kid-friendly musical tunes that it played when you pushed down the big red button, though at this time she wasn't quite strong enough to do this herself, pushing the red button not only produced music but also made lots of colourful balls bounce around in the centre of the table which was fun to watch.

Within a few months she was standing herself up against objects so I set the table up on its 4 legs, other than the furniture in our house this was definitely our greatest toy in regards to strengthening her leg muscles and in helping to develop my daughters strength and balance for learning to both stand and walk. She often would head straight for the table as soon as she got up in the morning and would stand here for a good 20minutes at a time engaged in her play exploring all of the different buttons and activities that it provided, which she never got sick of. She was now old enough to get the music playing herself now to and started to learn some pretty funky dance moves from doing so. The only thing which I feel would possibly improve this toy even more would be if more of the twisting, pushing and spinning toys around the outside of the toy would produce more sounds/ music when pushed.

This was certainly a well loved, favourite toy of my daughters and I would recomend it, great for developing those leg muscles, but also for other skills such as colour recognition, problem-solving, exploring cause and effect and even textures, the batteries seemed to last and last to another great positive.

We bought this table for our son when he was six month and he wasn't much interested in but in the recent months where he has decided he likes to stand to do everything he loves this table. It is low enough that he can hold on to it and stand up to play with the various activities.

His favourite thing is the button you push down to make the music and then he will stand their and dance away to the tunes that come out, only waiting for one to finish before he pushes the button for the next tune to come on. The one thing I have found with the button is if you push it right down when you release little fingers can get a bit of a pinch as it comes back up. This has caused a few tearful moments for my boy.

There are lots of other baby activities too like buttons to push up and down, balls to spin, flaps to move from left to right and beads to move along the bar. He can stand at the table and play for a good 20 minutes half an hour before he gets bored and moves along, which is pretty good for him as he is always on the move. Now that he is more sturdy on his feet and putting less actual weight onto the table when he stands against it, it is alright but when he first started standing he would put too much weight on one side and it would tip over.
