Everybody loves a good water slide. Kids love the joy of it on a hot sunny day, or in the case of my children...any day! Adults love watching the squealing and laughter that goes hand in hand with a water slide and now and then you will also come across an adult who also loves to play.
I bought my three children a Banzai speed blast water slide for Christmas. I purchased it on sale for $15.00 and for me personally I am glad that is all I paid. Reality is water slides (budget ones especially) are not made to last. They are a novelty item that in some cases last a couple weeks at best. Ours lasted 2 days.
Alot can be said about a good water slide. Unfortunately for us, maybe the kids were not careful enough, but the part of the slide that the hose attaches too at the side was torn during use. One child ran up and there toe caught under the slide pulling it up as they went to slide on their knees. This caused the hose attachment part to tear and the water no longer flow along the edge of the slide. As such that was the end of the water slide :(
Water slides really need to be made of a thicker durable material in order to last a little bit longer for kids older than 3-4years. However if this tear had not of happened so early in the days my review wpuld be a lot different. I also base my review on the RRP of $39.99. For $15 it did its job but had I have paid full price I would have been bitterly dissapointed.
When summer comes we always try and find ways to get outside and water play is a must on the hot days to cool off. We have the pool and the good old garden hose but the kids always get hours of fun out of a water slide.
This summer we bought this Banzai water slide from the warehouse and the kids absolutely loved it. The mat was nice and slippery and with a bit of help from some soap they got sliding really well. We used earthwise shampoo this year as my daughters skin always gets irritated when using the water slide.
It came with pegs to hold it in place so it didn't keep moving while you were sliding but seen as it is only made from plastic the plastic ended up tearing quite quickly and when this happened the slide didn't stay put so it is not really that durable it is definitely something you would have to buy again next summer as our one has now been thrown out.

In daylight a mighty T-rex. But turn out the lights and the image transforms into a glowing T.rex skeleton. Expose to light a recharge over and over again. Fearsome fun!
