Haha my daughter first found this series from watching random videos on youtube and fell in love with the series she was in fits of laughter watching it and always got me to come and watch too. Although we probably haven't watched the whole of the first series we have watched quite a bit of it and really enjoyed it, i'm sure some of the humour would go over her head but it is G rated so nothing inappropriate and fun to watch with the family for a bit of a laugh.
My daughter loved it because of the animals and there is some real beautiful and unique footage of the animals so it is really stunning to watch and there are some great actors etc doing brilliant voice overs to create the humour. I will never get alan alan alan alan, oh no that's steve steve steve steve out of my head for a very long time as that is one episode my daughter has played over and over again.
If you don't mind some light hearted humour and you like animals give this a watch I thought it was absolutely brilliant!!
I had no idea what this show was about until I got it to review, I requested this as I really liked the fact that it was about animals and has a G rating, so the whole family could watch it, always a big plus.
I showed the cover to my five year old and my three year old, asking them if it looked like something they would like to watch with mummy and daddy to which my five year old responded "yes please, I'd like to see the one about the penguins!". So, with a very easy yes from the kids, we settled down one Friday night to watch it, bag of chips in hand.
Walk on the Wild Side takes footage from BBC's Natural History Unit and combines it with comedic voice over's from James Manford and friends (as stated on the cover) which includes some well known and not so well known (at least for me) actors such as Tom Jones, Stephen Fry and the Osbournes.
I did find it got a little bit repetitive at times, but my kids laughter was infectious. The kids really enjoyed it, and asked for it to be played again, which I obliged them with the very next day. It's really great to have a G rated show that everyone can enjoy.
