I haven't watched any of the Cat in the Hat DVD's in this series before so wasn't really sure what to expect but I did really like it as did my son. It reminded me a lot of a cartoon that I may have watched when I was younger with the real basic drawn illustrations. It was actually quite nice to have a DVD like this for a change though.
We watched two episodes to start with and Cai sat and watched both of them quietly which was nice as he was over tired and wouldnt sleep so we cuddled up and put on a DVD which he really enjoyed. It kept his attention with the colourful illustrations which were done in typical Suess style.
The stories in each episode had some form of natural science lesson. My favourite one was about the snails and we learnt about how their shells are their homes and how they leave slime trials and eat cabbage. We also learnt about how we need the wind to fly a kite and how the mother bird sits on her eggs for them to hatch, so it does have learning in it for the children.
