Universe at War: Earth Assault is set in the near-future when multiple factions from across the galaxy have come to Earth to wage epic warfare. Deadly sci-fi weapons and alien powers allow players to destroy cities and other territory while fighting for Earth.
The game also allows players to retrain and customize units in the midst of battle, modify their weapons and defences in real-time, and even control the development of technology that will help them to victory.

While Universe at War could have been a glorious game there are a few issues that make it much less of a game than it could have been. This is the type of game, however, that my husband enjoys, so now I shall try and write out his thoughts on this game.
Universe at War: Earth Assault wowed the critics when released on the pc some months ago but hasn't done so well being transferred onto the xbox platform. In this game there is a race of Aliens called the Hierarchy which has invaded earth and is taking over the planet when a second race of Aliens comes to earth to save humanity. Before you know it there is a third race thrown into the mix.
Each of the three aliens has a different strength and weakness and so each one makes you approach the game from a different stance, and the balance is pretty good, which I was concerned about. The main problem with this, is that it is in fact no different from the pc version. You can choose between multi-player and single player, my only issue with single player is that it would have done better on PC.
I really like this game but I wish they had done bit more to suit it to an xbox game.
