In short, this was one heck of a book! I loved the cover, it actually took me a bit to find the hidden code on the scorpion, and the title was very fitting. I had learned in the game mission from Book 4 that one of Amy's closest Cahill friends, Sinead Starling, was actually working for the vespers, and was #3 in the big 6.

This made the storyline even more fun at one point where Sinead makes her move, and the truth is revealed. The story started well, it had that calm, peaceful, and smooth feeling, that vanished as the story went on, while mysteries, discoveries, and betrayals pulled me into a sea of action. I loved the game mission, the identity of vesper 2 was actually quite a shock, so I can't wait to find out just what the story is like in book 6.

I also found out the reason that Vesper 1 wanted all of the objects that Amy and Dan were forced to locate and retrieve, so if you have read the previous books, and want to solve these mysteries, you should definitely buy this book. As usual, I recommend this book for people over the age of 10, as there are some rather disturbing images that might not be so disturbing to older people, but would probably not be good for anyone under 10.

The price is just as good as it has been for the other books in the series, and so That gets the same rating: 10/10!!!!!! All in all, this is one book that is nowhere near being a waste of good money, so I hope that all of you who wish to get the book have a great time reading. Read the books, play the game, collect the cards, live the adventure!

Wow, what can I say? First off this book has been an absolute thrill to read with its codes to break and references to real-life history and objects. Secondly this book relates to all the feelings when you are being followed and attacked by a shadowy organization of people. While reading this book you can delve into the Cahills world of attempted assassinations, getting shot, going on a hunt for an object reputed missing and even get shot by a curare poisoned blow-dart. Vesper One is the leader of the 'Shadowy Organization of People' and he requests Folio 74 of the legendary Voynich manuscript. This manuscript is written in a language (or code) that no one can read or decipher, the only catch to Vesper One's demand is that Folio 74 is missing and no one has ever seen it in history.

I like this book because it has more action and danger than the previous books. In this book the Vespers have gathered all the materials needed to create the 'Doomsday' machine made by the great Archimedes, the creator of The Antikythera Device and many other creations besides. Now that Dan, Amy and the Rosenbloom brothers know what the Vespers have been assembling they will do all in their power to stop them and destroy the Doomsday machine. Dan has recreated Gideon's super serum and has drunk it. The climax of the series is approaching...

The website is as good as ever and these new cards are awesome. This book has good value and is very re-readable. I would recommend this book to any one interested in codes or who has read the other 39 Clues books and enjoyed them.
