The Cabin in the Woods product reviews

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know the story... think again.

From fan favourites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes The Cabin in the Woods, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.

I had heard so much about this movie but did not know anything about this movie so was at a complete loss for what was about to happen. Actually thought it was about Aliens but how wrong I was. I think I enjoyed this movie because I did not know so I was learning as it went along.

At first I was not sure what was going on as you are watching two different scenes but once you realise what is happening its really well done and think its great how it explains why people do what they do during a horror movie. Its actually very cleaver. Without giving two much away five friends go to a cabin in the woods where they are led into the basement. From there they are left at there own free will to decide how they will meet there demise. The human race depends on there deaths to save the world. Its like a reality game show but the prize is there death.

The end is fantastic and so neat to see all the things our nightmares are made of come to life. You are left rooting for the kids but then you don't want to see the world end......

I would recommend seeing. Cast is made up of an Australian and a Kiwi with some Americans to mix it up. A bit of fun on a boring Friday night. Not scary at all but a good movie to discuss with your partner or friends afterwards. Some cool death scenes.

This is your typical horror movie, some teenagers go away for the weekend and horror is unleashed. You have your pretty typical characters, the scholar, the athlete, the whore, the fool and the virgin, those approximations. However, right from the start you are shown that this isn't your typical horror film , and that there is something, human, at work here.

The characters are what you would expect, their behaviour is what you see in almost every other teen horror movie. Don't expect anything great from the characters, not at all. The thing that makes this movie good is its plot and its twists. There will be a couple of very small hints along the way as to what may be coming, but once you get to the end, and you find out, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I found it a little odd, but then again it seemed to work in quite well with the rest of the film, after all, the whole movie is about shaking up the horror movie.

This is a good film, and whilst the characters provide nothing new or exciting, it is good to watch a horror film where I didn't fully guess the ending.
