I really enjoyed this DVD and so did my son aged 10 months. He hasn't really watched a lot of TV and this was one of the first DVD's he has ever watched but by the concentrated look on his face while watching it and the grooving he was doing to the music I think he liked it a lot.
One of the best things about this DVD for the younger children was how it was separated into short episodes instead of one long movie. This way I could just let my boy watch a couple of episodes at a time. By having the theme music in between each episode it helped with attention span as every time my boy left to do something else the music would come on and draw him back. I think the music was his favourite part as every time it came on he would stop what he was doing and dance to the music.
I loved the themes in the DVD a lot of morals came through like honesty and telling the truth to your friends. A lot of the movie was based on this and also on helping your friends too. I like the episode Old Porridge where the rat in the hat tried tricking all his friends and got caught out and had to apologise. It shows children that you shouldn't lie because you will always get caught out and you should always apologise when you have done something wrong.
I also like the episode The Sleepy Snitcher in this episode there is a sleep walker who eats in his sleep. This made me laugh as it is something my partner does in his sleep too. There was some useful information in the episode like you should never wake a sleep walker as you might give them a fright which I thought was a good thing to put in the DVD for children.
All in all a fantastic DVD for preschool children that they should really enjoy to watch and they may even pick up on some good lessons of honesty and respect. Nothing scary in the DVD so it is safe for the youngest children to watch over and over again.
