This DVD is such a big hit for my 3 year old son! Every time he is allowed to watch a DVD since this arrived, he has picked it!

The DVD consists of 6 episodes
- The Lion of Sodor
- Thomas and the Pigs
- Time for a story
- Thomas and the run away kite
- Buzzy Bees
- Hiro Helps Out

Thomas and the pigs and Time for a story are possibly the favourite ones in the house, but they all convey great basic messages for pre school children about the consequences of actions and choices. Thomas and the Pigs is a story about not doing what was asked, but doing something else that he thought would help - when it didn't. Thomas almost misses the piglets being born, as he had kindly gathered up lots of things he thought the piglets would enjoy, when all he was asked to get was the soft straw. When Thomas turns up with everything but the straw, he gets in trouble! But it is quickly resolved and Thomas collects what he was originally meant to, and gets to the piglets just in time!! All the episodes follow a similar pattern, but i believe that is why they are so popular with pre schoolers, they are predictable!

In my opinion I find the graphics, although this a recently made Thomas set, dated. They do not compare at all to the Chuggington Trains animation, the colours are not as bright and the phrases are not as catchy. The Soundtrack is ok, my son loves to sing along to it, so the words are easy to remember and its repeated every episode. There are some funny parts in it - so there is *something* in there for the parent! And its very watchable when you're having some quiet time.

Overall I give this about a 7/10, but if you were to ask the 3 year old, im sure you would get two thumbs up!!
