As previously stated I love to try Phoenix Organics juices when I am at the pub with my family. I'm not a big drinker these days, since one of us has to watch the kid. I have tried just about every flavour of these juices.
This flavour is probably the most disappointing of their range. I love the taste of pear, but its a very subtle flavour. Basically it is so easy to get a pear drink wrong. Any other flavour in the bottle is going to ruin the taste of pear and for me, that ruins the point of the drink.
In this bottle you have apple mixed with pear and all I could really taste was apple. There was a slight taste of pear, but it was so light on the pear yumminess that I couldn't give it full marks. I will not be purchasing this one again, but there are still other juices in this range that I love.
I think it is safe to say that of the 3 flavours I tried, this was my favourite. This is a fabulous blend of apple and pear with the pear being just that little bit more dominant without being overpowering. It is really refreshing and doesn't taste overly sugary which is something I often find with some juices.
This is one that I would definitely get if out at a cafe (following my coffee of course!) and I can already see me having a supply of this for those hot days hanging out on the deck. Awesome job Phoenix!
This was the most bland of the range for me. A nice, neutral base for something more flavoursome perhaps, but on it's own I found it a little underwhelming.
Plenty of solids make it feel like a real fruit drink, and I could certainly taste the pear in it, but pear is a flavour I can't seem to really get into unless I am eating a fruit straight off the tree.
In summary, it was good for sure, but not a candidate for the Wow factor that would have impressed me more. For that, I will look to other flavours in the range.
This was, for me, just a bit too bland. I blame this fair and square on too many years of rich, spicy food and fancy drinks in my youth knocking many of my tastebuds out of kilter, or just OUT in total.
None the less, this was a great base for a sweet reduction syrup I used to make an ice-cream topping with a dash of vanilla.
Alas, I can't say much more about this without repeating myself - the product was of an exceptional standard, had a great texture in the mouth - not too watery, not too pulpy - but just lacked the zingy taste I want from a beverage on a hot Summer day.
Overall, maybe more your thing than mine - but I stand by the quality of the product regardless of it's lack of appeal for me.
This is one seriously refreshing juice!! Its full of flavour and tastes just like freshly squeezed apples and pears. The pear flavour is quiet dominant, which i really enjoyed as with a lot of other juices the pear flavour can lack. It wasn't too sweet so the whole bottle was really easy to enjoy and drink in one go. Just remember that you do need to give it a good shake before you drink it as it separates in the bottle.
I love that this is an organic drink, and i would now choose it when out at cafes for my son, or even myself on hot days! The price of it at $2.54 on this site is great value for money, but i believe that most cafes and places sell these drinks for more than that, although they are worth it for a really nice juice!
