I am not normally a guava fan so was a little apprehensive trying this one. I was really pleasantly surprised to find it is a wonderfully refreshing flavour that isn't overpowering, the guava was a really nice compliment to the apple. With all of this range I've enjoyed the apple base, I don't normally reach for any sort of apple as first choice but the combination of flavours has made these a big hit with me. Guava may not be my first choice in the range but if offered some I would not be saying no!
This was a very refreshing change from the orange-based juices so commonly found in the supermarkets. This being the first one I tasted, on the basis of leaving the most likely to pass the test flavours until last in case this one didn't taste good, I was very surprised at how high it set the bar for the others to follow. Or fail.
The tanginess of the guava and the sweetness of the apple and elderberry offset each other very nicely, making this a refreshing drink to have while enjoying a day of sunshine down by the river watching the assortment of boats plow the waters.
In summary, this is well worth trying if you want something a little different to sip for Summer.
I have always been a fan of Guava, quite possibly because it's one of the fruits my father had a hankering for so it was always in the house in some form or another - if not fresh, then canned or bottled in some fashion. It can be somewhat of an acquired taste for some, but it's right up there with Lychees for me. (Hmmmm, now that could be an interesting drink for Phoenix to explore...)
The flavour of the Guava was clearly evident, making this a winner in my books. Attempts to use this as a base for a refreshing vodka drink proved very successful, and I would be tempted to try it with white rum some time. I admit, is is a bit different to the usual run-of-the-mill fruit drinks, but well worth exploring if you like something a little off the beaten track.
Overall, very nice, and great to know it is organic, and thus free from sprays, preservatives and pesticides. Brilliant - we need many, many more manufacturers with this ethic! Great work, Phoenix!
