A Girl Called Harry product reviews

Harriet Jasmine Emerald Florence Mabey McDonald (Harry for short) wonders if an imagination is something fast, like a cheetah... in which case it's not your fault if it runs away with you, because you couldn't stop it.

Or is it something little, like a celebrity handbag dog, which can only run away with you if you let it...

When the new girl starts at school and takes over Harry's best friend, her imagination runs riot.

This is a wonderfully written story. It is about a girl named Harriet (Harry for short) who faces many different issues in the story. From her parents unemployment, her creativity and wild imagination to her drifting friendships.

This is a very humorous story and with Harriet's telling of the story she shares her thoughts and feelings about her experiences with us. She definitely keeps us on our toes, and i really felt like i was in the story with her.

When a new girl arrives at school and joins Harry's circle of friends, Harry's friendship with Jessica (the group leader) starts drifting away and she feels it is all because of the new girl. She then feels she has to be against everything to do with this new girl, even when her own circumstances change.

The moral of the story is: Don't judge a book by it's cover! I will be recommending this to others with children in the age range of 9 to 12yrs.
