Product reviews...
The Blu Step by ADMAN was the perfect stool to use while my nieces were younger and couldn't yet reach the handbasin to wash their hands, brush their teeth, or reach the top of the bench in the kitchen or used it successfully to climb up onto the toilet. When they left my place the Blu Step by ADMAN folded away and stayed next to the toilet or in the bathroom until their next visit. It was so simple to unfold and click back into the correct position my oldest niece would do it all herself when she needed it.
I never used it myself I only bought it for my nieces and loved the fact that it folded away easily and didn't take up any room like other plastic stools for young children while they weren't staying with me.
It is still used now-a-days but for a different reason as now my nieces are grown and no longer use it to reach the top of things, they still use the Blu Step by ADMAN as a portable workbench or table to use for their drawing or painting and even eat their breakfast, lunch and dinner on it...since this I have had to go out and buy another one as there were fights over the Blu Step by ADMAN!!
Lucky for me that when I went back to purchase the second Blu Step by ADMAN it was on special at Mitre 10 so I got it at a bargain price which is always a bonus...but since it is used all the time and is well loved by my nieces the asking price is reasonable and I would have been happy to pay the asking price. The Blu Step by ADMAN has lasted for years and I am sure it will last me..well my nieces for many more. I would recommend the Blu Step by ADMAN
to anyone that needs that little bit extra height to reach something for an affordable price.
I am not sure whether I love this product or hate it. I personally believe that the weight limit on this too high. I weight less than 100kg (not by much though) and I am reluctant to stand on the step without holding onto something. I did learn though that you should ALWAYS check that the step is fully opened and clicked into place before you step on it. I dread to think of what would happen if you stood on the step without the handle bit running horizontal between your feet. I love the idea that it takes up very little space and can be put anywhere from beside the fridge to on a hook in a cupboard or even in the car.
My daughter has used the step several times a day since it arrived to do everyday things from drying dishes to brushing her teeth to using it to gain access height to get things that she really shouldn't be in, like candy canes. This prevents her climbing up the kitchen draws and onto the bench. The ease of opening and folding up the step is that simply even a 3 year old can do it.
When you're one of those people who can reach most places, but there is the odd occasion when something is just out of reach, this little beauty comes in real handy.
It gives you that extra boost to reach those slightly out of reach places, and feeling very stable in the process. I have tried many different methods of trying to reach those places and this is one of the most safe feeling ways I have ever used.
While it's construction looks quite simplistic, it is that basic design that gives it it's strength. And being able to handle up to a recommended 100kg it can handle even the slightly more portly of us.
Being a lad that gravity has a good strong hold on I am not exactly light on my feet. Or on the toes of any feet I happen to stick my clodhoppers onto either. With a maximum weight tolerance of only 100kg I was afraid of testing this because I havent fit under that limit for a fair few days. But after talking it over with the guy who sent this to me I figured "What the hell. At the worst we can confirm how bad it can get." So I set it up and v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y climbned on to it while using a nearby desk to take some of the weight.
Once I was fully standing on this I let go of the desk slowly and gently allowed the blue step to take my full weight. Whadya know it held. Not even a creak or groan (from the step that is) to tell me to be ready for a busted ankle. It held me really well so I climbed off. Deciding to be a bit more daring I steped back onto it without support and it still held though there was a bit of creaking this time until I was fully settled on it.
It certainly is light and amazingly easy to store, set up and use, but it just isn't designed for the 'bigger folk' around. So I decided to send it back and let someone else make better use of it. Its only fair I post me review but for me this step is a little bit too lightweight. Not the steps fault though by any means.
The Blu Step is a very handy fold up and hide away little gadget, which really does have hundreds of uses. Though currently, my cat finds it a useful hiding place to shoot out and attack ankles.
The fold away design is a masterpiece of engineering (if you can call it that) and this means you can hide it away so one doesn't trip over it when it is not being used. It is simple to unfold this stool and put it to use in an instant.
The plastic it is manufactured from is sturdy enough for most people, though it is recommended to have a maximum 'load' of 100kgs (which I currently exceed) and if possible, it would be good to see something that can take a few more kilos; however, it has found plenty of uses with my daughter to reach those things in the food cupboard that we had hoped to keep out of her reach.
Highly recommended as that emergency few inches when needed.
