Product reviews...
I really loved Celestial Wines Mulled Wine. It smells heavenly. It's Rich and very aromatic from the spices. The main ingredient i could identify was cloves.
The first thing that i thought when i tried this drink was that it went straight to the bones and warmed me from the inside out instantaneously.
The smell of the Mulled wine reminds me of the Christmas period. This is probably the only time of the year apart from winter, i would drink it, as it's look, taste and smell is very rich, sweet and warming - all the things Christmas time is!
I would like the bottle to be labelled with the ingredients as it would be nice to know what else is in it apart from cloves :)
On a cold winter's day, this would definitely be my first pick from the shelves!! With a warmth that seeps right through every part of you, leaving you feeling relaxed and cosy, the Mulled Wine is a gentle explosion of silky textures and a wonderful combination of rich flavours. One of the stronger flavours that came through was ginger, giving it a pleasant, gentle spicy sweetness that leaves the tastebuds tingling for more.
The rich warm flavours bring to mind thoughts of curling up in front of a cozy winter fire, gentle music playing in the background, with a good book to get lost in while enjoying a glass of this wonderful wine. While enjoying the taste, I also found myself savouring the aroma, which was just as rich and full of that sweet spicyness as the flavour.
As much as I enjoyed the Mulled Wine, I believe it's a wine to be enjoyed in small amounts, as the gentle sweet after-taste did seem to build up after a while, and threatened to lean towards too sickly sweet if I had more than a glass or two. Despite this, I would say it's definitely a must have in your cupboards, especially during the colder months.
This product is a lovely festive concotion with spicy warm cheerful attributes that is perfect for Christmas Parties, or a final drink on Christmas eve before relaxing into slumber.
A pleasant warm full sweep over the palate warming the soul in one heartbeat, this has to be every family's answer to an intimate round of festive celebration.
A great price at a small $22.00 which is a small price to pay to bring joy and create lasting memories. Celestial Wines well done!
As the bottle said, warm and drink, I just had to try both warm and cold.
Cold, was a bit unusual, flavours were a bit flat, and the smell was the same. Texture quite thick, and the senses were a bit overwhelmed with the aftertaste.
However when it was warmed it was completely different.
The spices became more pronounced, a very rich warming drink, that goes straight through your body. the only way I can describe it was fantastic.
The smell reminded me of Autumn, when you go for dinner at Grandma's. Very rich and welcoming. And the taste and smell stay for a while even after you have finished.
This is my favourite of all the fruit wines. 10 out of 10.
I did try to cook with this also, in stews it adds a lovely flavour, especially when done in the slow cooker. the infusion with the meat is just fantastic, and incredibly aromatic.
