The Bed Barn has its own woodwork division and we manufacture all our own bases to our own unique designs. All joints are laminated, glued and stapled and we use more timber than most other manufacturers.
King, Super king and California king beds are all split or two piece bases. We also manufacture trundler over beds, trundlers and drawer divans in all sizes and all models.

Product reviews...
Just over 6 months ago I walked in to this place looking to buy a new bed. Our current bed had lived a hard life, and the sagging springs were causing back troubles for us both.
I spoke to a really nice gentleman who took me through all the options, except one. When I asked him why he hadn't shown us us one particular, impressive-looking, bed he explained that it was their "... Asian bed - too hard for most europeans to find comfortable." My partner and I decided to give it a try anyway and found it to be utterly comfortable. Very firm, yes... but hardly a rock.
After taking a couple of days to discuss our thoughts, and check out a few other retailers, we did the bean-counting and decided this was the right bed to get. Knowing that in tough economic times folding cash often carries more weight in price discussions, I walked in with a stack of crisp fifty dollar bills fresh from the bank and started to negotiate.
Cash worked well, it seems. Without any 'push' from me, the salesman chopped nearly $100 off the price as soon as he saw cash, and even threw in delivery for half price.
With promises of extra reinforcing around the edges and same-day service, I departed with my reciept and awaited the arrival of the new bed. Sure enough later that afternoon in came the truck with the new bed. While they unloaded, I moved the old bed out to the garage. To my utter shock, as I came back into the house I saw that the new bed had been shipped unwrapped, and was dirty from the truck.
A bit of cleaning took care of the worst of it, but still, I wasn't impressed. A week later I noticed that the edges of the mattress had not been properly reinforced, and later investigation revealed only the head and foot of the bed had been done, not the sides - the areas MOST prone to sag due to the sleepers getting out of bed and compressing the sides as they sit and push up to standing. A quick visit to the showroom and I had a promise that the next day would see the truck there bright and early, and the mattress would be returned a few hours later fully reinforced on all sides.
They got it mostly right. Though their service was great, the execution left a lot to be desired. When the mattress was returned a quick sit-and-feel examination revealed that the sides were indeed now reinforced, but only to within about 30cm of the corners, leaving the corners still unsupported. When sitting near the corner to pull on socks or pants, it is quite uncomfortable to have a hard foam edge trying to examine my colon!
In the more recent months, the bed has failed to retain it's original firmness and has become quite uncomfortable to sleep on. An utter waste of nearly $900, and a great disappointment from a company that manufactures their own stock.
Overall, I won't be shopping here again, and will be making a similar recommendation to anyone I know looking for a new bed. Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware!
