Spreadsheet Mapper allows you to quickly create heat maps from your Excel spreadsheets. Download Spreadsheet Mapper and get started with heat maps in a few minutes.
The Spreadsheet Mapper is an Excel add-in based on Panopticon's heat mapping technology. It helps users of Microsoft Excel to quickly analyze and get a feel for their large data tables. For those of you familiar with pivot tables, Spreadsheet Mapper can be said to have a similar function, the difference being that it represents data graphically and not numerically. It can instantly visualize thousands of observations and lets you analyze your data quicker than ever before. There is no limit to what data can be mapped and you have the freedom to create as many maps as you want.
The maps are dynamic and react immediately to changes in the underlying spreadsheet tables. This is true even if the tables are self-updating through web queries, database connections or feeds such as Reuters, Bloomberg or Thomson.
In order to chart a map, simply launch the built-in wizard from the Excel toolbar and follow the instructions.

I am a visual thinker. I can't abstract numbers easily, but graph it, give me a method to correlate data, and I'll see all I need to know and be able to process it inline with my normal mental processes.
This application, this tool for the visually cognitive, is a wonder indeed! Following clearly intuitive proceedures, it create an easily abstractable method of displaying dynamic data, drilling it straight through the occipital lobe of our brains.
Quite frankly, I was stunned by the simplicity of the theory behind it, and after only a few minutes of test-driving it, I already had a new way to appreciate and understand the financial flows of the company I am employed by, and could then begin to formulate performance enhancing strategies along a new vector.
Overall, truely stunning. The high price, though fully justified, puts this product into the 'major investment' category for many smaller businesses who could greatly benefit from it. It's not for everyone, but if you are a lateral-thinking, visually-oriented data analysist in the company, this tool is a god-send.
