The my friend Emily doll was one of the first gifts that my daughter received after being born. At about 5 months old she quickly became her favourite toy, which is not surprising as she is a very cute little doll with a happy, smiley face and so many bright colours to look at.
My daughter became quite attached to Emily and so Emily had to come everywhere with us in the car, on car rides and even to daycare which is where we unfortunately lost our first Emily doll, but thankfully we were able to pick up another at our local Baby City store. One of the great features about Emily is that she has a ring hook which can securely attach on to most things such as the pram or cot which is very reassuring as it mean that in these places shes not likely to get lost again.
Emily is definetely a great toy for babies and younger children with so many bright colours and textures to explore. The bottom of her dress is very neat and features a band of different textured materials which each with them also have different sounds which they make. It is great for sensory experiences which is an important way in which babies learn. Emily has a cute flower necklace which actually doubles as a rattle filled with colourful little beads, the flower is just the right size for little hands to grip on to and for teething littlies to chew on. One of my daughters favourite things about this doll when younger were the plastic rings, they were easy to hold on to and made a neat song when banged together.
Now at nearly 3 years old my daughter still loves her Emily doll, she loves to use it as her babies doll now making her doll explore all the different textures on her dress which is rather cute to watch. Would recommend this Emily doll and other Lamaze products to parents.
My second daughter was given Emily as a gift when she was about 6 months. She immediately fell in love with her beautiful bright colors, the cute little rattle necklace, her crinkly dress and teething rings. She is so pretty to look at with bright colors and a pretty little dress. She is so much fun. And has a pretty little face as well. Emily would come everywhere with us. She provides hours of entertainment and not just for the young child. My 3 year old decided she was pretty neat to play with also.
Emily has now been passed down to my third child who has just as much enjoyment out of her. She is really good quality, in fact she still looks new, maybe just a little dirty on her face. She really is a great gift for a young child, Emily brings a lot of fun and excitement to children of all ages. I would recommend her to anyone with a baby girl. Last year I gifted one to a friend who had a baby girl.
We were gifted an Emily doll for DD2 when she was born - and before she even got to see it - Miss nearly 3 had claimed it as hers, and told us Miss nearly 6 mths "was too wittle for it" and she would have to keep it. Clearly, though it is aimed at younger kiddies, it appeals to older too!
The ring hook attachment is great - can be clipped onto the pram, onto my sling, onto the handle in the car - and I know if she pulls on it - it is safe and sturdy.
There are lots of different textures, sounds, colours and shapes on this doll - making it a hit with little fingers, big sister fingers and mummy's as well.
We have 2 of these now - one lives constantly in the car (would not travel without it) and one in the house - it is the PERFECT distraction at nappy changing time.
Really like the Lamaze range of toys. We have other Lamaze toys as well, and have found all of them to be fantastic - in design, concept, manufacture and price - ie not too pricey for a good quality toy.
Definitely buy as gifts for other, and recommend as well.
My daughter was given this when she was born from her Nana. I thought Emily was so cute. She did so many things. Her necklace rattled, the rings were great for teething and for little fingers to hold onto. The skirt contained crinkly fabric.
One of the best features for me was that there was a big ring so I could attach it to the straps on her stroller and I didn't have to play the baby drop it so mummy can pick up game.
My daughter loved to play with Emily. It would keep her entertained while we were out on long walks. It really engaged her senses, bright colours, something to chew, different things to feel and different sounds too.
The only problem I had with this was the mouth started to unravel so Emily has ended up with a lopsided smile.
I bought an Emily doll for my wee daughter for Christmas 2010. My daughter would have been around 5 months old.
The white hook grip attachment was fantastic for keeping my girl occupied , if i clipped the doll onto my bertini pram, or onto the hand rail above the passenger window, for the doll to rock around with the movement of the car.
Emily doll, is great while being clipped up, for the littlies, because they can tug at her with their little hands, the doll can be kept safe from falling and smothering the child. Also she keeps her appeal dangling up somewhere, instead of face down forgotten.
I have the Emily doll roaming free around my house, my daughter is now 13 months old, and still loves the Emily doll. My daughter sits in the sun with the doll, daintly with pincer fingers , she pulls at the dolls laces, and watches them curl back up, rubbing her fingers on the hem of the dolls skirt, for the different textures, rough and smooth, along with the loud scrunchy sound within the skirt.
Emily's pretty rattle necklace is a good size to hold in nearly fit into the palm of her hand and watch the little balls move , and wonder how they are in the flower shaped device. I recommend this doll, nearly one year on, as Emily still gets hugs, even from my older daughters, (3yrs), and Emily doll is still bright and vibrant, and intact.
Love the Lamaze range of toys. We have about 5 other Lamaze toys in our home. We would consider buying more with our next child we are planning on having too, as the Lamaze toys are safe, bright, and are brilliant tools and a source of entertainment for the wee ones.
Will recommend to other families as well.
My Daughter has had an Emily doll since she was born and she just loved the way it felt, and really enjoyed chewing on the rings on her hand when she was teething. Since it clipped onto everything, it was always there in her reach. I found it helped her want to grasp things and play a lot more. She is now 3 years old and loved this toy to bits and it's still intact had no rips or anything so I feel it's a good value toy well worth the money, and my daughter still loves to play with her till this day.
My daughter loved all the crinkles and rattles that came from Emily the doll. It was big enough for her to hold onto for quite a long time. The doll is bright and colourful and had many different textures and sounds, so that it kept her attention for quite a while. There was nothing I didn't like about this doll. It is so versatile and easy enough for the smallest hands to be able to use.
