This product is great for compact cameras, and small video cameras, if you're wanting to stick a dslr or whatever on it, don't bother, possibly if its brand new and your camera has a small lens you might get away with it, but in general its joints aren't firm enough to hold any decent weight.

With a smaller camera its awesome, it will grip railings, branches, and loads of other things, even your handlebars if you want to film a bike trip!! It will twist and bend to get whatever angle you want.

As a tripod its ok, there are no leveling bubbles of course so its all judging by eye, fine if you're not needing to get it perfect.

So overall its ok, quite a specific product, I'd say the price could go down 10 dollars but thats not too bad. If you are looking to take a lot of photos from trees etc it's definitely what you want. Otherwise just get a small tripod.

I had a bit of a play with this one before passing it on to the main reviewer... just couldn't resist... and I have to admit to being quite impressed at it's potential.

It was so easy to attach to the camera, did a pretty good job of grabbing things, but I found it wasn't too good as a tripod. It really is best used to perch on uneven surfaces or grab tree branches, metal poles etc.

I did find that after a little bit of use the joints had loosened up... this made it easy to bend the legs into the required shapes, but it also reduced their grip a little... however if you pick your place well, you will find this unit will perform quite well, even supporting my camcorder as I hun it upside down from a tree branch to get some test night-vision footage.

Overall, a very stunning unit and well worth considering if you have a small-format handicam or point'n'shoot digicam, however for SLR-sized units might be better suited to something bigger.
