I have discovered a way of keeping of girls quiet for an afternoon - when I say quiet, I don't mean silence. I mean not being bothered for an afternoon - a whole quiet, blissful afternoon when you can read a book, surf the net (reading KIWIreviews of course) or having a quiet wine on the deck and listen to the sound of birds and giggling girls having their digital make-overs done.
The design is simplicity in itself - put batteries in the back, plug into your TV, select the correct AV channel. Switch on the Digi-makeover and leave them to it.
You could, if you wanted try to help your child navigate her way the various screens, but with this tech-savvy youth there really is no need. My daughter found what Digi Makeover was all about even before I had finished reading the instruction manual.... but enough about my inadequacies as a dad!
There are some sample faces to start you off, but like any girl, the real fun is not making over the sample faces, but doing their own makeovers.
Now, one child can have a lot of fun, but if you have, for any insane reason, found yourself agreeing to a girls sleep-over then the investment of Digi Makeover will pay for itself in a very short time. Ladies won't come back to find their make-up bag raided and that very expensive Chanel perfume liberally doused over a bunch of kids.
Simply plug in, switch on and let them decide who to photograph first with the very convenient built-in camera. Backgrounds can be changed, so too, can eye colour, hair colour, eyes, and all the shades of general make-up that us chappies have no idea about.
A recent visitor to my house was impressed by Digi-makeover and decided immediately to buy one for her grandchildren - after, that was, having had a makeover performed by my daughter!
All in all, a toy that is intuitive to use and will keep the children out of your way for hours - what could be better than that?
