Product reviews...
This has got to be one of the best variations of the whole dart/laser tag game system. When my son saw this on TV he immediately wanted it (well it proves that advertising works) so when the chance to have a go with one of these came up I was all for it... (okay so i'm a big kid at heart as well )
When the kit arrived it was very quickly unpacked and laid out for all to see. And like the previous reviewer I found the vest a tad bit tight it still did the job it was suited for.
So it was on with the kit and out to the yard and a firing we would go. I too was also a bit upset to find my son was better than myself, but it was still very enjoyable and was a great bonding moment. I just can't wait until my youngest is old enough and I can let the two boys loose at each other and I can have a rest , even though my youngest is only three he was still eager to give it a go, but at that age he still had difficulty with the whole cock-aim-shoot, cock-aim-shoot system, as did I as well (damn that hand-eye coordination sure ain't what it used to be.)
I can certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a good christmas present for any energetic kids boy and girls alike, give them that let 'em loose and they will wear themselves out in no time and you can concentrate on digesting that christmas meal .
The darts are nice and light and whilst they stick like glue to the velcro and anything else of a similar weave their impact isn't felt most of the time, and on the odd occasion they might hit some exposed skin it's perfect harmless. I do recommend some sort of eyewear as even the best aimed shot can go wrong. The VISION GEAR goggles are great fo r the kids, but parents if you're gonna join in the fun with your kids put on those sunnies.
But full marks to Hasbro & Nerf for another wonderful interactive game and Let the fun begin
After a particularly uneventful morning, my son and I decided it was time to put the "no weapon toys" rule on hold and go let of some steam in a typical male-bonding manner. So, a quick unpack and loading up of the guns with their 10 darts each, and off onto the lawn for much running around and trying to stick as many foam and velcro darts onto each other as possible, without getting as many on ourselves.
After nearly an hour of mindless running, yelling, and (in my case at least) gasping for air, we collapsed on the grass and laughed so hard our chests hurt (more). Dagnabbit, if the little tyke's aim wasn't better than mine, and he scored the winning tag on my back, a dart I hadn't even noticed. This was discovered just about the same time as I hit the ground... funny that.
The gun itself was fun, though in the 'heat of battle' it was difficult to remember to slide the bolt and thus prime it to fire the next dart. As a bonus, while running around madly it was easy to scoop up fallen darts and reload on the run, literally.
Overall, though the body armour was a tad small for a grown adult, it served it's purpose well, and it fit a little loosly on a lithe 6 year old. The darts were soft and non-abrasive on bare skin, but retained adhesion to the body armour as well as my socks, his t-shirt and trackpants. The impact of them on bare skin was also negligible, even at short range. With obvious mounting points for accessories, I can't wait to see what add-ons they bring out for this. Are you game for it? Bring it on!

Whether it's standing still or being rolled around, the purple hippo is filled with fun! Open the hippo's mouth to 'feed' it blocks, or just have fun adding and removing them from the storage area. Kids can attach blocks to the hippo's back, or to its wheels.
