Best selling pop-up master, Matthew Reinhart takes fans on the ultimate journey through LEGO history with a little help from narrator Professor Wolfgang von Brickhausen, who heads the department of LEGO Studies at Baseplate University. This one of a kind book is positively bursting with humour and interactivity. There are intricate pops to marvel at, tabs to pull, wheels to spin, mini accordion books to unfold, maps to discover and much more besides.

So I have a lego craze son who is 7 and my daughter loves lego friends but not as mad in love with lego like my boy. When this book came about for a review I was excited we were picked to review it, when the box arrived with my goodies inside my son saw the lego and went right into the box and pulled it out. He then sat there with the book (meant to be going to school) opening and closing it getting excited then asked if he could stay home instead of going to school. UMMM no off to school read it afterwards.

The book its so thick and big, the front says its a journey through the lego universe this seemed interesting. Opening up the book you are greeted with the first pop up and information about the lego where is made then and now. Great information and the pop ups are interacted with is awesome you can pull and lift to make it like the actual lego 3 in 1 sets which my son likes, you can make three different things out of the same lego just like this pop up page. AMAZING. Every single page has a pop up, now yes funny enough because the title of the book is lego pop up, that didn't tell me every page, I was thining here and there but I love this so much better and so does my son. Each page talks about different things relating to lego, like the minififure's, lego castle, the new ninjago lego and the limitless lego creations. Since this book he has asked for more and more ninjago lego because he loves the ninjas in the book.

This book is suitable for older children, I wouldn't buy it for a child under 5 as the pop ups can be ripped easy and the book would be ruined. It would be great for lego lovers of big and small people. My son sits and reads it alot, and doesnt like putting it away. What as awesome book idea, and the pop ups are truly amazing and very detailed. The price is a little high for my liking I would prob pay $40 at the most but would perfer $35 but I do understand the amount of work that is needed to put one of these books together and it is def worth the price.

I have some Lego mad children in my house (as you may know from previous Lego related reviews) so when they saw this book in our box of goodies, it was a struggle to keep it within sight so I could write the review. I decided to look through the book on my own first before getting then to sit with it and give me their views. These pages aren't limited to just a pop up, there are some pull out bits, spinning bits and even a three in one pop-up which is particularly neat. There is information galore, so just how much you get out of this book will depend on your reading ability (or how long someone is willing to sit and read it all to you).

Each double page has different info, ranging from history lessons, such as the meaning behind the name Lego, the minifigures and their humble beginnings, land and space, Ninjago (which has become huge) and a huge page showing a huge range of Lego characters and creations. Mr Nine thinks that it's a cool book because it has a lot of Lego things in it, his favourite page being the one which shows a large amount of minifigures. What he didn't like about the book was that he did struggle with some of the pages in closing them so that they didn't get damaged and some bits which slide out were hard to get back in (I too struggled with them).

Other than the difficulties with turning the pages and sliding bits in and out, this is a great book, not one I would leave along with my younger kids but I know my eldest will come to me if he needs help. To me the price is huge, what do I expect from a Lego book though...
