Four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth in ruin.

Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal fifth wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope - if she can only trust him.

It is fair to say there are two types of people in this world - ones who believe in Aliens and those who don't. If you don't beleive that we share this universe with other species then you will think this movie is a load of porkies but if you do, you will find it is at times an okay, but extremely predictable movie definitely aimed at the younger generation.

The movie itself starts off with so much promoise and potential and the special effects where fantatic and it was gribbing but then when the forth wave occurs it slows down considerably and you can see exactly what is going to happen, who the bad guys are and that nothing is what it seems like. I was scratching my head when the children were enlisted to fight 'The Others' and then it dawned on me, its a teen book aimed at kids and do not over think it. Kids are easily manipulated and do what they are told without questioning and that is basically what the story is Toy Soldiers pretending to be big people killing aliens with a love twist thrown in to the mix.

The acting is okay and the script is definitely dumbed down for kids but it is watchable. It is not life and death gribbing by any means but it just glogs along nicely telling the story and letting you work it out. Nothing really happens and I am even conterplating letting my children watch it in the not too distant future. It looks like it will be a series so guessing the second part will come out soon. It is what it is just unfortunate they didn't continue the movie along at the same pace as when the waves hit as that was thrilling especially the tsunamis.
