Duck in the Truck product reviews

Watch out! Here comes Duck in a brand new edition of the first book in the million copy bestselling series! This is the tale of a duck in a truck - a truck that was stuck in some yucky brown muck. A sheep in a jeep and a frog in a bush saw the truck stuck and gave it a push. But the truck stayed stuck! What now, can you guess? Could a goat in a boat get them out of this mess?

Duck in the Truck, is another book written by Jez Alborough to go along with all of the other wonderful books that he has written in his Duck series. Children always seem to really enjoy these books and respond well to the funny and entertaining characteristics of the duck and all of the crazy things he gets up to and has happen to him. Duck in the Truck is a story about a duck who goes out shopping, but unfortunately on his drive home in his truck he becomes stuck in some yucky brown much, which requires a lot of help for him to become unstuck, but luckily for duck there are a bunch of other animals a sheep, a frog and a goat who come to ducks rescue and lend a helping hand. My 2 year old and the babies and older children at the daycare which I work at adore this story and is a well requested story by them all.

The story is very well written and is a great way for teaching older children about rhyming words, as the story has got a flow of rhyming words on each page such as duck, truck, muck, yuck and so on. Every sentence of the story ends with the rhyming words and sounds which the children pick up on easily and enjoy saying and joining in with, for some reason this does seem to be rather entertaining for them and they do become quite silly over this and excited i'm not actually sure why. The layout of the book is the same the whole way through with the writing below the illustrations on every page, which I think makes this book really to read and also is handy for children who are learning to read stories themselves as the straight lines and simple fonts make this a rather easy read.

The illustrations are bright, colourful and good to look at and really clearly show you what is happening they are very well done. The looks on the animals faces do a great job of showing how they must be feeling at different stages through the book, for example sad, angry, happy and frustrated. The book also portrays a special message for children that being how important it is to work together and help each other out when you are stuck and are having problems with things, for example in this book being stuck in the mud, and that by working together you can often get the results you need.

Another great book by Jez Alborough which I would thoroughly recommend.
