My children have been big followers of these little yellow creatures, and we have been to movies at the cinema to see them on the big screen. Their favourite to date is the 'Minion' film, which centres around the little creatures themselves. When my 7 year old received this he was ecstatic, he even took it out to dinner that night and couldn't stop thanking me!

What I found really good in this book was the size of the words, they are large enough not to be intimidating to read by a young child. The chapters are small, which makes the child feel successful in their reading as my son would exclaim each night that he had read 4 or so whole chapters!

This book really wasn't put down until it was read, it was so nice to hear him asking if he could go to bed and read, rather than play on his device. He took him a week and a half to get through reading it, and most of the words are manageable for a 7 year old. There were some that he would ask for help on, however I felt that this gave him a bit of a challenge.

My 4 year old loved trying to sneak off with this book and look at the pictures in the middle, they are bright and shiny and really appealing to look at. This is a book I would purchase again from Scholastic for Birthday or Christmas presents. Great value at a great price.

Its all about minions in our house at the moment. Dad has had the honors of taking the little misses along to the movies over the school holidays and again on a horrid rainy day. Miss Four sometimes behaves like she is one... This book was always going to be a hit but for me having not seen the movie yet at least I could read this and have that ever important question "how did the minions come to be" answered!

Just to help me visually this contains eight beautiful glossy pages of scenes from the movie. They are really good quality. What I have liked most about this book is because the kids have watched this movie they love telling me all about the movie. Miss seven enjoys reading it to me and then telling me bits that happened in the movie.

Miss Four really enjoys the pictures and uses these to narrate the story to me. Overall I think this is great value for money and a brilliant book to encourage your young readers to read as it is such a great story that kids in particular really seem to enjoy. I would definitely recommend it even more so if yu haven't seen the movie and your kids have.
