When my awesome review parcel arrived Mr 6 eagerly asked "what's in there mum" and I told him it was "mum" things, his wee face dropped and he went back to playing on his tablet. I opened up my KIWIreviews box and discovered I had been selected to review this book. Mr 6 asked why I was getting a Hot Wheels book, when I said it was for both of us, his eyes lit up and he was straight into it!

The book comes with a Hot Wheels car and is really sturdy with its big cover that fits the car. The pages are paper, but are well protected by the covering and my 3 year old has no worries with it. Each page is in full colour and very bright. I would guarantee it would hold any little boy's attention for ages - so many great pictures and the words are broken up into sections so its not too wordy, but there is still a lot of information packed in.

There are 12 sections to the book full of things such as "Hot Wheels history", "how to be a collector" and "what's under the hood". My 6 year old is really into contents pages and finding each sections with the numbers at the moment, so this was a huge hit. Another bonus is the glossary at the end explaining different terms that I had no idea what they meant! Words such as Air Brake, Chassis, Scoops and Twin Turbo are defined. I thought this was fantastic!

My son spent hours going through the tub we keep the toy cars in looking for the Hot Wheel ones and matching them to the ones in the book, then this process was repeated when Mr 3 came home from daycare. It was an excellent and interesting way to keep them entertained for the afternoon!

This would make an awesome birthday present if you are off to a young boys birthday (aged 5-10). It is great value at $18.00 and It would give some great bonding time between father (or grandfather) and son / grandson! There are a lot of old cars listed, so I'm sure adults could reminisce about "the good ol' days".

Product reviews for listing 773: Getting Away With Murder: The Jennifer Beard Inquiry -  Written by Mark Price

Product image for Getting Away With Murder: The Jennifer Beard InquiryNineteen sixty-nine: the year Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, the Beatles sang 'Let It Be' and the period known affectionately as the 'swinging sixties' expired. It was also the year English hitch-hiker, Jennifer Beard, was murdered as she travelled a remote road near Haast Pass.

Armstrong, The Beatles and the sixties are famously remembered. But Jennifer Beard's killer is largely forgotten. He was never arrested, never charged, ... more...
