The cover of this book immediately entices both big and small people. The image of a spaceship taking off with a beautiful deep blue background with clouds scattered on the bottom half is stunning! It is quite a large book so hard to miss in the book shelf and it really does command your attention.

The first page in is the contents page. My 6 year old son really likes this feature as it has the page numbers and he can see what page to go to for what. This is a bit of a novelty at the moment as he is leaning to recognize and read more words and getting the hang of different features of books.

Each page is beautifully laid out with a condensed amount of information, perfect for any child at primary school. An extra cool feature is the "Did You Know" section on each page, there is a little cartoon rocket with the fun fact next to it. My son loves going through the book and trying to remember each wee fact.

I also really like that these is a bit of history and a section which allows you to consider the future, this has led to many conversations in our house about people living on Mars and the Moon. I would really recommend this book to anyone with a child with a like for space, or science as it will strike up their curiosity and lead them to go and learn about it on their own (in our case, my son likes to look up you tube). It's a great price for a quality book!

This book is perfect for any little space fan and even those who are not so little. My whole family loved looking through it and it was nice to see my partner and son (age 6.5yrs) bonding over a shared interest.

The book covers a broad range of topics from Walking in Space to the Apollo programme as well as looking at Space Shuttles, Rovers and Probes, just to name a few. Each topic is a 2 page spread with beautifully detailed illustrations. The information is delivered in a straight forward way making it easy for little minds to grasp and each spread has a corresponding 'Did you know?' section containing an interesting fact. The book created a lot of questions and sparked some interesting discussions - it was really neat watching my son's mind working (I love books that make you think).

With it being quite a large paperback book, it is a bit flimsy and not the easiest for my son to look through (and it has been looked through a lot just in the few days that we've had it). It would greatly benefit from a hardcover and it would withstand more of the everyday wear and tear that comes with small children and books.

We'll definitely be reading and discussing this book over and over again and would highly recommend it as a great educational book for young boys and girls who are interested in the topic of space.
