Take 14 of New Zealand's best-loved native animals, split them down the middle and what do you get? Nearly 200 crazy Kiwi combos, from rare to wacky. Mix and match for hours of fun. Funny pictures of 'Moretaras', 'tuaporks', 'seawis' and 'ki-lions' are teamed up with similarly mismatched poems: 'My beak has nostrils at the end; it's useful I suppose. But don't you think it's kind of weird to suck food up your nose? If I'm a female, I'm a 'cow', although I never moo; A male's a 'bull', but kids are 'pups'. Does that make sense to you?'

This is one very awesome fun loving book. I brought this book from work when we get in book people selling for a couple of weeks each time and it was a good price for me, a quick glance at it and I knew this was going to be educational and fun at the same time. As the blurb on the back says hours of fun for the whole family, this is an understatement, its additive and fun. You can do so much matching and mixing with different animals making your own.
My kids love opening up the pages one picks the top flap the other the bottom and we read what name that gives us like the "Kitara" then we read the top and bottom together with a funny picture on the side. Of course finding the top and bottom of each animal to read about that one animal. Each page gives a detailed description of what the animal does, eats,
We have learnt heaps from this book and each lot of words rhyme and feel like you want to sing about it. I have found animals I didn't even know they were in New Zealand but area amazing all the same. Its great to have a picture to match each so we get an idea of what it looks like. This book is fully recommended to all those that love animals, learning and want to have fun with a book.

They are ratty and tatty, a little bit mouldy and a little bit smelly! There are holes in the soles and... look, is that Grandpa's toe? It is time for a new pair of slippers, but Grandpa can't let his old ones go.
