Lotus Lane 3: Lulu - My Glamorous Life product reviews

The Lotus Lane Girls Club is the most fun club ever!

This series is part of Scholastic's early chapter book line, Branches. Aimed at 5 to 7-year-olds, this line of books is for children who are just starting to read independently. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

Book 3: Lulu
This third book in the series is written as Lulu's diary, with fun illustrations and doodles throughout. Lulu loves all things sparkly, adores her BFFs, and is a huge fan of her favorite actress, Penelope Glitter. Lulu enters a look-alike contest in the hopes of being able to attend Penelope Glitter's new movie premiere.

My daughter fell in love with the Lotus Lane Girls Club (LLGC) books when she received book 1, Kiki, and book 2, Coco, to review with me some months ago (from KIWIreviews). She has always been a very good reader, but had not actually read any chapter books alone yet, we read them together at night as her bedtime stories. So it was wonderful when she also fully read her first chapter book unaided (one of the LLGC series).

These are wonderfully written, easy to read, nicely illustrated books. As some of it is text speak (such as LOL, gtg etc) it has definitiins in little boxes. There are also definitions in little boxes explaining words or things younger readers may not know, such as red carpet event. My daughter enjoyed these definitions and braoadening her knowledge and understanding.

The Lotus Lane Girls Club books are fabulous stories, written in a mix if diary and story form pretty much on girls friendships. They appeal to pre-teen girl readers and are even quite inspiring (see my review for book 4). My daughter loves these books and can happily and confidently read them alone, and she has read them more than once too!!
