Lucky I have young boys as this is not the type of book that appeals to me for long. The stories were short and kind of what I was expecting, a little ragbag boy who will do anything to mess things up for his teachers and his family. There were a lot of cartoon looking pictures which made the book a bit better.
The language used would appeal to kids as it uses easy words and things kids would say. My 5 year old is just starting to read and he was very excited to see that he could read Pirate without any help, but he never tried the book, I will be keeping it for him to try again in a few months.
I see that this is part of a series of books but I don't have much interest in reading the other books, although my boys might have different views. I would recommend this book to parents of young kids who love using their imaginations.
