Product reviews...
Arnotts Mint Slice biscuits are a family favourite in our household, and when we see these go on sale we are always sure to buy 3 or 4 packets, though often we now buy the value pack, sometimes this nearly works out to be buy one get one free which is such an awesome deal!
With the dark chocolate and the tasty mint fondant filling they are sure to please at any time of day or at any event, I often take these to work with me to enjoy with a cup of tea or as a quick after dinner snack which fills the gap perfectly. My partner absolutely loves anything with mint and chocolate so these are a real hit with him, he says that they remind him of the yummy York Peppermint Patties which were widely available in the States so so good.
The Mint Slice biscuits are definitely good on there own but I have also used them various times in baking when the recipe asks for biscuits, they are perfect for creating that minty baked treat, I have used them as a base in cooked and uncooked slices, in balls and truffles and most importantly in cheesecake, they always provide just the right taste sensation not to over powering in peppermint but definitely not just a slight hint either. The fact they now come in the convenient value pack size of 375g is unbeatable value, there are always plenty to go around, or better still plenty to put away and save for when hunger strikes.
Arnotts mint slice biscuits are one of my families favorite biscuits, and no other brand of mint slice biscuit will ever compare. Arnotts have created the perfect mix of biscuit, mint, and chocolate. Not to much or to little of any of the three components but instead a perfectly balanced mix that makes my taste buds dance in excitement every time. The peppermint fondant that is layered on the biscuit base is not to sweet or minty, and the rich dark chocolate lovingly coating the entire thing is not to thin.
Actually I am always surprised at how generous Arnotts are with both the peppermint and the chocolate. If you are a lover of dark chocolate, peppermint then you will find yourself addicted to these perfect biscuits too.
I love Arnotts mint slice value pack, mostly because there is more yummy scrummy biscuits more package and also because value (money) wise they are a better option. Oh and perhaps the fact that it means there are enough biscuits to go around. See with the standard sized packet of Arnotts mint slice, I can happily devour the entire pack in one sitting, so the advantage of the value pack is that I can have enough for my kids lunches and enough for me to dunk in my coffee :)
Arnotts have done something that no other biscuit company has managed to do; create a biscuit that I can actually stop eating. As a large man with an almost never-ending appetite, I generally find that when I open a packet of biscuits, it will stop eating when either the packet is empty, or I will stop once I am sick of the flavour, at which point I won't touch them again for a long time.
Arnotts on the other hand have created a fascinating combination of crisp chocolate biscuit, gooey peppermint, and a thin layer of dark chocolate. Although not overpowering dark, the chocolate is dark enough to suppress my appetite. While I may not have eaten the entire pack in one go, I haven't gotten sick of the flavour, so I can come back and finish the pack later. In other words, this mint biscuit has forced to moderate my eating! If only all foods were like this.
The chocolate and peppermint parts complement each other, with a daring mix of bitter and sweet, and the biscuit does its job to reduce the overall intensity of the flavour. This is the closest I have come to finding the perfect biscuit.
I am absolutely chocolate mad and combine it with mint and I am in absolute heaven so these biscuits are a real treat for me. They have been around for years but I have never grown sick of them or found a biscuit I love more so a packet never lasts long in my pantry. That is one reason I buy this value pack so the packet will last that little bit longer as they just never last long enough.
What I love about these is you get the delicious crispy chocolate biscuit base, with a creamy milky mint soft mint filling which is then all coated in deliciously dremy milk chocolate. These are great to eat for clearing the palete after a meal, as the mint really helps get rid of the tastes of spices and things like that in your mouth. It is a bit like an after eight mint except a biscuit so even better.
I recently discovered these come now in packs of 4 biscuits as a snack pack so I have bought myself a little pack like that to put in my handbag when going out somewhere then I get the decadent treat all to myself yum!

Perfect compliment to an ice cold beer!
These nuts are dry roasted with a Hickory Smoke flavour and a dash of spices along the Cajun lines. If you love the smokey flavours of salami you will be hooked on these nuts. Also Extremely Delicious warmed in the sun or microwave/oven bringing out the natural oils and smokey flavouring which makes the spices roll over your tongue.
