I purchased this book because I had already bought another book within the series, and I love board books as I find them to be a valuable resource to use with young children as I am an early childhood teacher. Plus it is a favourite action song of mine as well head, shoulders, knees and toes....a great mat time movement to music experience for young children.
As with the other book within the series this book features old fashioned looking teddy bears, doing the actions of the song head, shoulders, knees and toes. The pages have a white background making sure the teddy bears are very visible so the reader can easily see the actions the teddy's are doing.
A very cute factor that I like within the book is the different teddy bears doing the actions are all dressed in cute little outfits and this made the book visually appealing to me and that is one of the reasons I decided to add this to me resource collection. Also as with the first book the font is perfect for young children, it is black, bold and uses the correct letter formation.
The thing that also drew my attention to this book was the musical button on the front that plays the tune of head, shoulders, knees and toes.....but it is a shame that there isn't access to the musical component because once the battery (which I assume the music runs from) runs out that musical option of this book stops and it just becomes a book that is to be read by an adult and the young child isn't able to listen to the tune by themselves. But in saying that I have had the book for a few years now and the music is still going strong and it has been used quite a bit.
