Product reviews...
I purchased these Tegel Chicken Parmigiana Schnitzels to put on some burgers which I was making for dinner, usually I would buy Tegel Chicken Steaks but these were sold out on the day I needed them so opted to buy these as I thought that the tomato and Parmesan seasoning with the crispy Panko breadcrumbs sounded like a nice flavour that would fit well in a burger.
I got home and prepared the burgers topping them with the Parmigiana Schnitzel, camembert cheese, tomato, bacon and lettuce. The schnitzels tasted really nice in the burgers and the coating was nice and crispy and golden, however I did find it quite hard to taste the flavour of the tomato and Parmesan on the chicken as it seemed to be over powered by the other burger fillings.
With a couple of schnitzels left over int he box I decided to try these again later on in the week this time with a salad, it was definitely a lot easier to tell the taste of the cheese and tomato this way, the taste was definitely there and was perfectly done. These made a fantastic topping for a meat in a salad. What I love about these the most is just how quick and easy they are to prepare, being a processed chicken product the chicken is already precooked so all you have to do is heat them in the oven for about 10minutes and there done, though to get a crispier crumb its best to leave them for a few minutes longer.
There is definitely an endless list of ways in which these could be used, pastas, wraps, salads, burgers and pizzas and i'm sure they would also be enjoyed as is with a side of wedges and salad for a super quick weekend meal.
I bought these when making a chicken salad, I usually buy chicken tenders but seen these and thought that it sounded nice with the parmigiana taste. That they were they were so good, you can't see the tomato or the cheese yet they have an intense tomato paste and cheese taste through the chicken that really complimented my salad well.
The great thing about these is that they are so convenient, the chicken is precooked so you basically just have to heat them to your liking, I like my crumb to be crispy so I cook them a little longer than the packet gives as a guideline. Certainly a lot easier than buying schnitzel and crumbing it yourself!!
Once they are cooked they are easy to cook into strips to serve over a crisp garden salad. As they are flavoured you don't really need to add any dressing to the salad as it already carries a lot of flavour but I add a little bit of best foods mayonaise to give it a bit of moisture without masking the flavour too much.
I could also see these as good served with some roasted potatoes and vegetables or even on their own with some hot chips if you want a less healthy meal.
