The Oranges product reviews

David and Paige Walling and Terry and Cathy Ostroff are best friends and neighbours living on Orange Drive in suburban New Jersey. Their comfortable existence goes awry when prodigal daughter Nina Ostroff, newly broken up with her fiance Ethan, returns home for Thanksgiving after a five-year absence. Rather than developing an interest in the successful son of her neighbours, Toby Walling, which would please both families, it's her parents' best friend David who captures Nina's attention.

When the connection between Nina and David becomes undeniable, everyone's lives are thrown into upheaval, particularly Vanessa Walling's, Nina's childhood best friend. It's not long before the ramifications of the affair begin to work on all of the family members in unexpected and hilarious ways, leading everyone to reawaken to their lives and reassess what it means to be happy.

The Oranges was a total drama romance and I really enjoyed this movie - In the middle of my pregnancy and wedding planning it was exactly what I needed to take my mind off things! While I wouldnt consider it to be laugh out loud completely funny comedy of a movie, it still had plenty of comedy in it and I had a few chuckles to myself. My fiancee decided not to watch this as he thought it was a "chick flick" but in all honesty I think he would have enjoyed it.

What starts off as a pretty normal family situation - where one family is best friends with another that live in the same street and do everything together quickly turns bad when one of the daughters comes home from being overseas after her relationship fails. Within the first night she falls for the other daughter's Dad and things quickly get complicated and hard for everyone involved.

At one point I thought this movie was getting a little bit gross - she seemed so young and him so old but realistically it was a true love story and was looking at the fact that love can conquer all... Or can it??

A bit of a twist of an ending... I kind of felt left hanging but I wont spoilt the surprise there - you will have to watch it to see! Recommend to others Smile Icon
