After reading that there will be a dance at the zoo, Little Penguin tries to learn some steps from the other animals but neither Monkey's samba, Flamingo's ballet, nor the hippo's line dance seems quite right for him.

One of my daughters was given I Wish I Could Dance for Christmas. I appeals to both of them. My four year old is dance mad and her three year old sister is animal mad. The story is about a penguin who wants to join in the zoo dance but he can't get the hang of any of the styles of dance that the other animals are doing.
The thing I like most about the story is the messages that comes through: You don't have to be the same as everyone else; If you are determined you will find a way; and music is for everyone to enjoy it doesn't matter how talented you are. These are all values I try to instil in my own children and my home-based carekids.
There are other stories in this series which I haven't seen yet about making friends, self-confidence and being brave. If they are as well written as this one and contain the same cute but funny illustrations of animals they will be a big hit with my kids too.
