Haunters product reviews

Eddie, Adam and David have the same gift. Separated by generations, they are linked by their ability to time-travel. Using their dreams, they can appear like ghosts, wherever and whenever they want. The first is the genius who discovers dreamwalking. The second is a Haunter, a dreamterrorist, determined to change history for his own ends. The last is the novice dreamwalker who must battle to save his family, and himself, from oblivion.

As an adult I wasn't sure if I would like this book. I knew it was aimed at teens but I have enjoyed teens books before so i thought, hey why not. So I jumped in and started reading. From the first page I loved it,. The first few pages were a bit confusing but once I got into the flow and the writers manner I worked it all out.

This book for me was a definite crossover from teens and young adults to older adults. Anyone that loves ghosts, the unusual or mysteries will love this as it has all of that. It is very easy to read and I knocked it off in a day, I loved it so much. It was a great change, from all the vampires and werewolves that are the norm these days for kids. After I had read it I gave it to my neighbours daughter to read and she thought it was brilliant. So it is perfect for girls and boys. I also loved the touches of history that were included in it. I really hope there is another one as I want to find out what happens not only to Eddie (the hero in the book), but his grandfather, and all of the other Dreamwalkers. The twist at the end sure wasnt what I expected, as I thought "the king" was going to be another character.

If you want to know more then make sure you get this book, as it is a brilliant read. You see I love to tease then leave you wanting more. For me the book was value for money, easy to read for all ages.

Haunters has a fairly cool concept; time travel, ghosts, dream walkers...it all sounds rather exciting, so I couldn't wait to start reading this one. The first few pages lost me. The story was jumped into straight away with thrilling action from the first word...which was great! Except I was lost from the start. Too much happened and the story seemed to jump from one important topic to another.... But once you get into it, it all pieces together and finally makes sense.

If you are not a fan of time travel, ghosts, the dark and the scary then this book will not appeal to you. But if you love dark undertones and mystery, with thrilling and intense story lines then you will absolutely love this book...once you get past the confusion. I would not recommend this book to anyone under the age of 14 personally. I think it would be a little to grown up and confusing. However maybe I was just to old for it lol

The main character is a 14 yo boy named David, he is a loner and un-liked for reasons even he is unsure of. You kind of feel sorry for him and want to help him. When reading it is easy to become as confused as the character himself is, which is possibly what Thomas Taylor (author) was aiming for...and if so it works! The other main characters are Eddie and Adam. But the book also has strong female characters which is a refreshing change, and makes the book appealing to both male and female. Although you are not aware of the female characters until you are reading.

This book reminds me of the books I read when I was younger: the discovery of secrets, of friendships being tested, and the sense of suspense and often danger. Once I was past the confusion, it pieced together nicely and was a thrilling read full of suspense and darkness. I actually ended up enjoying it, even though I had thought after the first few pages that this would not be the case.
