I bought this kettle from Noel Leeming a few months ago while it was on special at half price which seemed like a real bargain. This was a perfect replacement for my old kettle which I was very unhappy with and matched the toaster I already had. I purchased Russell Hobbs as I heard many positive things about the brand before and wanted to try it for myself.

Since day one it has been so easy to use and very quiet in operation (makes hardly any noise until the water is actually boiling) which is why the blue LED light is such a great idea. It indicated beautifully that the kettle is on. Such a nice and quirky detail. I have not had any issues with water being 'tainted' when left overnight in the kettle (which another reviewer was claiming to be the case). The kettle also boils the water very quickly which is a bonus when I am in a rush. The easily removable filter is also handy to keep scaling at bay. Last, but not least, it looks classic but modern and appears versatile enough to complement different styles of kitchens.

Overall, I cannot see any bad points about this product and would happily recommend it.

We just purchased this jug in the weekend from Briscoes. I really love the colour, the red parts are brushed so are not easily marked by my fingerprints! Its super quiet when it boils, which make it seem oh so modern compared to my last one which was like a train! I love the colour as it brightens up the kitchen.

The first morning after we got, we made coffee and the coffee was revolting ... so we tipped the water that had been sitting over night out and re filled and tried again. This time we had nice normal tasting coffee, *something* inside must taint the water if left for awhile, which is a bit of pain to be honest. So every time we boil the jug from long periods of it not being used, we are in the habit of replacing the water. This wouldn't be too good if you were on tank water - lucky we are not

I really like that there is a plastic water filter that you can take out and clean also .. not sure how effective or if it is really needed on the other hand! Overall i really lke the jug due to the quietness and its stylish looks! I just hate having to refill it due to some strange taste. We also brought the matching toaster :) But that's for another review.
