The History Keepers 1 - The Storm Begins product reviews

Imagine if you lost your parents - not just in place, but in time.

Jake Djones' mum and dad have gone missing and they could be anywhere in the world - at any time in history. Because the Djones family have an astonishing secret, which for years they've managed to keep - even from each other. They belong to the History Keepers, a secret society which travels through the centuries to prevent evil enemies from meddling with Time itself.

In the quest to find his parents, Jake is whisked from 21st Century London to 19th Century France, the headquarters of the mysterious History Keepers, where he discovers the truth about his family's disappearance - and the dastardly Prince Zeldt's plan to destroy the world as we know it...

Ordinary schoolboy, Jake Djones, is rapidly sucked into becoming a reluctant hero in this wonderful adventure through time. His parents are missing and he has just discovered that they are part of a secret "time traveller" society and are stuck in Venice, 1506.

The History Keepers is full of original characters, a fabulous plot and an eagle-eyed attention to detail. History leaps off the page with a healthy sense of humour, literally holding you on the edge of your seat, with many moments of wondering just where the story is going and how it will all end up.

You'll find yourself wishing you, yourself were able to time-travel with Topaz, Nathan and Charlie in the race to find Jake's parents and stop the evil plans of Prince Zeldt.

This is a fantastic adventure book, and I can't wait to be able to read the sequel. It could definitely rival that of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.
