Lime Chutney is the natural friend of fish. If the fish is fresh and pan-fried, then all you need is lemon juice, sea salt and freshly ground pepper. For a seafood curry, laksa or pie, Lime Chutney is the perfect accompaniment.

Product reviews...
It is a shame that the other reviewers to date didn't like this product.
I am no fan of lime chutney (at least I wasn't - until now), and admittedly was very hesitant to try it (I have tried many other brands in the past and didn't like them - in fact, many of them nothing would ever tempt me to try them again) however this had a rich tangy flavour that wasn't so overbearingly lime (like many of the Indian jars of Lime Chutney) but instead had an incredibly rich balance of flavours that tames the fierceness of the lime with the other flavours and becomes something special.
My wife was the first to try this (only because I passed her the wrong jar accidentally) and her reaction was such that I was compelled to try it. She insisted I try it but not before helping herself to a second much larger serve. I was hesitant, as I said previously, that I had only a small taste first. Then, like my wife, I help myself to a much larger serve.
This is the only lime chutney I will not be hesitant to buy in future.
I regret to say that even though I have recently come to enjoy the zingy taste of limes, this did not appeal to me.
It's probably a personal taste issue, but the sharpness did not lend itself to my taste preferences.
Objectively, the product seems to be of a high quality, made with care and dedication, and clearly it has appeal to a wide enough market to warrant the ongoing manufacture of it... but this is one Kiwi who doesn't fit into that demographic.
I gave it a whirl in a casserole, and ended up watching the rest of the family eat it, which they did with great gusto I must admit... so the fault lies square with me and not this product.
Overall, not my thing, but clearly worth checking out if you have non-mainstream tastes, as it may be right in your hit zone.
I'm not really a chutney girl but do enjoy it occasionally. Terrifically packed as i have seen so many of the Q Gardens products i was keen to get into this jar.
It looks alright and should be served with a spoon rather than a knife unless you can spread lumps but this is due to the way it is made rather than there being anything wrong with the product.
It seems fantastic with a strong lime smell. I bit into it and honestly couldn't close my mouth round it, the minute my mouth closed it opened back up again to spit it out. I personally don't think this product is for me but to be fair, will be giving it another go with some cold meat before it goes in the never to be seen again drawer.
I did have high hopes for this one. I tried it out on toast triangles with my homemade curried parsnip. It wasn't totally bad but didn't really have quite the pleasant combination of taste I was hoping for, I personally thought the flavours weren't as complimentary to each other as I was expecting. I think the best description would be that it was a bit bitter. I wasn't left wanting more.
While I would politely eat it if served it, I wouldn't reach for it as my first choice.
