I won a copy of this book from KIWIreviews. I love it, beautiful pictures!
I read this to my son who is 5 months because the book is nice and large and the pictures are bright so captivates his attention. It is my favourite book to read to him, and when he gets older it will be an easy book for him to learn to read as there are not many words per page. It reminded me a lot of 'The Polar Express'.
Overall this is a beautiful book and would make a wonderful gift.
Bree and I opened the book with amazement. This book is 24 pages long. The author has really done a great job with this book. The graphics are awesome every page bursting to life. Its the most colourful book I've seen in awhile.
The kids will love this especially if they are into trains. Will definitely get read a million times. The storyline is about a wee boy who dreams of an adventure on a train while he's tucked up in bed. It is a rhythmic book. This book has an awesome wee surprise on the first page for your child.
Its hard covered and very well presented for a long lasting adventure with your child. I thought there could have been a bit more to the storyline, I found it a bit of a let down for this book but Bree loved it.
this story reminded me a lot of 'the polar express' in some regards as it just had a very similar feel to it despite being cut right back to the very basics. there wasnt much in the way of story, it just seemed to be a series of little comments to give context and continuity to the illustrations. speaking of which, the drawings were amazing with a rich texture and little hidden bits though I am not too sure I agree with 'the sandman' being a puffy cloud creature. the book is made as a hardcover but it is quite puffy feeling too which i guess ties in with the cloud creature theme. a bit overpriced in my mind but still a great book to read to really young ones.
