Wow, where do I begin?!
With all the same strengths, and weaknesses, of the others in the series, there isn't a lot new to say really... and with the weather being so erratic and unpredicatable, I have to wonder if the meteorologists really DO have the theories straight.
This book is, if at all possible, even more packed with information than the others, and I found that a little tough in deal with in places. The layout is tidy, but doesn't flow as well because of the heavy flow of 'side boxes' dropping in with facts, figures or photos, cutting down the easy flow of the main text. I think this one would have gained some great benefit from a simpler, more structured page layout.
Overall, while still an excellent reference book, I wasn't quite as impressed or happy with this one, and I found it entirely pointless for kids to try. My son took a quick look through it, and I could see that his eyes were glazing over within a few pages. Probably the single biggest eye-opener for me was the explaination of the Milankovitch Theory explained in the "Reasons for Climate Change" section of Chapter 5. If the theory holds true... well, let's just say that if you want an idea of what's to come, you better sit your butt down in front of the TV with a big bowl of popcorn, a notebook, and a copy of The Day After Tomorrow.

I, Geronimo Stilton, was called to the Kingdom of Fantasy for the ninth time. Blossom, Queen of the Fairies, had disappeared, along with three powerful magical objects: The Book of a Thousand Spells, the Crystal Sphere, and the Whispering Wand.
If those objects ended up in the wrong hands, they could destroy the whole realm. Accompanied by new, magical friends, I had to cross horrifying kingdoms full of spiders and snakes before facing a terrible evil wizard. Squeak. Could I make it in time to save Blossom and the entire Kingdom of Fantasy.
