Review #21412 - Dated: 26th of January, 2020 Author: mizim |
I enjoyed Tilly's first foray into books, so I grabbed this one off the shelves during a quiet patch and set to. This book is set shortly after the first, Tilly and her mum are still trying to mend their relationship and now disaster has struck at the underlibrary when a bookwanderer (who has been lost for many years) returns and wins position of head librarian and begins to impose tighter rules on everything. Everything takes place over just a week and has a much faster pace to it than the first book in this series and even though there is some history gone over in this book, it flows well.
In this story, we have moments where the fairytales are breaking down, glitching and disappearing whilst Tilly and her friend Oskar are inside the stories. I thought that this was well done and had one of my favourite moments in the series whereupon Rapunzel has multiple Prince Charming's calling for her to let down her hair, but fear not, she is not a helpless maiden. The author manages to up the stakes a bit more with this story, though it was still obvious to me just where she was heading with everything and just what the characters were going to get up to.
I enjoyed this book a little more than the first and will read the next when it comes out.
