I also had a digital copy of this book. I got into this one very quickly and got through it very quickly even though it is the biggest book in the series. I was very sad when the book was over and done with which is why i read the series a second time. I loved reading the "bonus material" at the end as it helped understand the character "Christian Grey" fully 100% After I had finished the series I felt sad for the character Mr Grey and the up bringing he had and how it shaped him as an adult (by the end I was thinking of the characters as if they were real life people) and as a mother it made me feel a lot more protective of my children. I found the actual ending of this story quite predictable though, as I was reading through the book I sort of just knew the ending before I got there. I like how there were so many ups and downs in this book too, more of a real life relationship but with more than its fair share of tragedy. Once again preferred more the second time round than I did the first time but was the best of the 3 books in the series... I'm now eagerly awaiting on the movie to come out ^:D |

This is the third book in the Fifty Shades trilogy. Having read the other two I knew I had to read Fifty Shades Freed too. Having not read a novel for a couple of years I read the whole trilogy in less than a week. My family are very grateful that I have now finished reading them. While I was reading this I was tired from all the very late nights reading and the housework piled up. The only person to benefit from this was my husband due to my increased libido. Although this book did contain the detailed sex scenes that the other two books had, it was also more of a mystery. Throughout the story I was trying to work out who was trying to harm them. As the final book in a trilogy it ends neatly so I wouldn't expect that Christian and Ana would ever appear in another book. I know some women reading these books found them to be hyped up rubbish but for me this was the escape I needed from my mundane life of moaning kids and housework. |

This book blew my expectations right out of the water. If you have read my other reviews, this comes as no surprise, but i think E L James is fantastic!! The story has enormous ups and downs and lots of twists and turns, it connects with the first book very well. Grey's character develops the most in this book, and at the end of my version (brought on kindle) it has a couple of sub books which i thought were really fantastic and a great insight) I love the way the book ends, and hopefully its been left open enough so James can create another book from it. I'd love to hear how their dynamics operate and change in the given situation they face. I felt the end of the book was rushed and i wanted it to be more engaging, but in saying that i can see why James has done what she did. Overall i would fully recommend the series to anyone who isn't too conservative! |
