Most assuredly one of my favourite HP stories, this 7-cd set is skillfully narrated by the vocally-adept Stephen Fry, and again his voice gives life to the various characters... his characters sounded so 'real' I found myself 'watching the movie in my head' as I wandered around town with the cd-man hooked to my belt. I loved the way he brought the Dursleys to life, especially the nasty Uncle Vernon and obnoxious Dudley. Having enjoyed the movie, I was made quite aware of the differences between the original story and the screenplay, with certain scenes being far longer and more detailed, and even some characters being dropped right out for the movie. Overall, for the devoted fan, or those with sight problems, this is the version of the story you would be best served by, methinks. |
